Ten Questions with Sophia Brucker

Earlier this year we welcomed Sophia Brucker to the Koss Olinger team. Sophia has been a great addition to the support team, assisting Kirk and WJ while also helping in other areas as needed. We are grateful to have Sophia on the team and are appreciative of her positive attitude and contributions each day.

  1. How long have you been with Koss Olinger and what is your role?
I have been with Koss Olinger a little over three months now and I am the Administrative Assistant to Kirk and WJ.
  2. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Caracas, Venezuela and lived there for 15 years. It was a fun experience living in a city that neighbors with a jungle filled with an abundance of tropical birds, monkeys, sloths, and jaguars. Also, the beaches are the prettiest I have ever seen in my life! From mountains falling into the ocean, to never ending sandy beaches with crystal blue water, the coast of Venezuela has many different beauties.
  3. Do you have any pets? If yes, tell us about them.
We have a family dog named Oreo, he’s an adorable shih tzu that has a catlike personality. He has spent most of his life sleeping and growling at people that try to wake him from his sleep. It’s funny to see him get little spurts of energy because he will do one lap around the house, bark once or twice to make sure you’re watching as he does his thing, gets back on the sofa, and sleeps. We recently adopted another member to our family and his name is Ghost. He is an extremely adorable husky/German Shepherd mix!
  4. What is something people would find surprising to learn about you?
I love cooking and will make any dish as long as there’s a recipe to follow. I love making Asian and Indian cuisine the most because of all the flavor you can pack in to one meal.
  5. What do you consider your best quality?
My best quality is being an “open book”, I never have anything to hide and I am more than happy to let you know anything and everything upon request!
  6. If you could have dinner with one famous person from history who would it be and why?
Instead of a famous person can I have dinner with my grandparents? I miss them so dearly and wish they were here today.
  7. What is the best advice you ever received?
The best advice I have ever received is, “If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.” And also, “Treat people as you would like to be treated.”
  8. What is your super power?
My super power is to deal with chaos and difficult people. I guess you could say that being raised around a big and loud Latin/Southern family definitely helped me with this ability!
  9. What is your favorite food?
Oh gosh that is a loaded question! Well, let’s say if there was an endless steak, potato, and macaroni and cheese buffet someone would probably have to roll me out of there.
  10. What do you think is your biggest contribution to the Koss Olinger team?
I think my biggest contribution is always looking for ways to help my team members. If I find myself with free time you can be assured that I am looking to lend a hand or looking for projects to do.
